Fix, while not our top pick is a very registry scanner offering most of the features necessary; standard, deep and custom scan options and one option that is very important; ignore lists, allowing the users to assign parameters to the program if necessary.
When we ran Registry
Fix, the powerful scan identified and repaired a significant number of problems, lagging being RegistryKit but not by a lot.
The program was designed for ease of use, with multiple built in features making your scan easy to accomplish. Of course they give the option of performing a Full Registry backup which we recommended you perform before any scan, or before making any major change to your system. A very nice feature was System Startup Manager, allowing the user to look at, and then remove any unnecessary or unwanted program set to begin when your PC first boots. There is also the ability to look at the Add/Remove programs area of your PC and remove programs or data that may have remained on your system.
A short coming was not having the ability to schedule automatic scans; making it mandatory the user remember to run their own scans periodically. And while RegistryKit can be set to run at system start-up, for our use, this is not as valuable as being able to set a pre-determined time.
A serious short-coming was not providing the option to perform automatic updates. While an update can be performed manually, many will forget this function and be running an out-of-date copy.
